Tanna Velten is  a Berlin-based painter and illustrator with a background in stage design.

Her work combines painting and storytelling, focusing on atmosphere, character and quiet narrative scenes. Influenced by travel and observation, she creates images that invite slow looking.

Her interest in storytelling is shaped by an attentiveness to how children see and experience the world. She is currently developing picture book projects.
